Description

This is an auction for a rare LP by The Rolling Stones, Beggars Banquet.

This was released by Decca Records in 1968 and has catalogue number LK4955. This is the 1st pressing with large Decca lettering and is the rarer mono release.

Condition: The gatefold sleeve comes in nice condition with only a touch of buffing seen to the very corners, one tiny crease in the centre and a few very discreet discolour marks, some of these will clean of the laminated surface. Please check the pictures on supersize for clarification. Spine & Edges ex, No tears, bends, lamination ex, no fingering marks to mouth. Fine sleeve and graded at Near Mint. (one glued edge has come unstuck and will need regluing).

This comes with its original inner sleeve which other than a little creasing to the corners is Mint.

Label 1, Is clean and as new, under very close examination only a few tiny spider spindle trails can be seen, the centre hole is fine and shows only a touch of wear.

Label B, This side is also clean with a few more spider spindle marks than side one , the centre hole shows no sign of wear on this side.

The vinyl retains its new shine. There is one visible scratch on side 2, and a few other feather scratches only seen when tilted under a very strong light.

So as with all my expensive records with any kind of surface mark I gave this a test play. The first thing to say is this record has an edge warp, this does not lift the needle and is certainly non-audible. Now for the really good news, this plays amazingly well, not just quite well but with out fault.

This has immaculate quiet entries and breaks between records, not one pop or crackle or tick through both sides, no feckling or surface noise heard through the entire record. The music itself plays strong with no distortion or fading whatsoever. This is the clearest recording of this you can get with no lessening in sound quality. looking at the amount of spindle marks and the centre hole wear this certainly has not been overplayed thus there is no reduction in sound quality through wear. This does sound mint but can only get a grade of Near Mint, due to warp & one visible surface scratch.

If your buying for sound quality and can overlook the warp and one non-audible scratch, this is for you.
