The Prisoners - In from the Cold

This is the original UK release on Stiff Records from 1986.

This was the final LP by seminal Medway mod-psych-garage-beat rockers The Prisoners, featuring hammond organ from James Taylor of JTQ (James Taylor Quartet) fame, and Graham Day on guitar and vocals. This band had a huge influence on the Manchester scene of the early 90s, with bands such as The  Charlatans and The Inspiral Carpets naming them as a major influence.

There's not a weak track on this record, but stand-out tracks include the pulsating, Hammond-fuelled 'Find and Seek', the soulful 'Be on your way', and a fantastic cover of Jimi Hendrix's 'Ain't no tellin'.
