Description
"Columbia Workshop" Radio Show Transcription Discs recorded by Edwin Strong, Inc, New York City. One Complete approximately 30 minute radio program on these three 12 inch, black lacquer acetate coated glass, 78 rpm discs. These discs were recorded for reference purposes only and not available to the general public
"Columbia Workshop" radio program of December 22, 1940 titled "The Plot To Overthrow Christmas". This famous radio program was written, directed and produced by Norman Corwin and stars Martin Gabel, Ray Collins, Everett Sloane, Karl Swensen
The discs are in excellent condition with no cracks, glass is strong and sturdy. There is considerable surface noise on the first 8 minutes of the show. I believe this was recording defect, not groove wear, as the finish on disc two is slightly different once the surface noise ends, which is visible in the third photo. After the first 8 minutes the sound is EX-/EX. There is no label on part 6
