Hi, my name is Brian and I have been collecting vinyl for many years. My main interest has been PROGRESSIVE especially the VERTIGO SWIRL/SPIRAL LABEL, reputed to be the most collectable label in the world?
I have also collected some real 'prog' gems on other collected labels, such as Charisma, Dawn, RCA Neon, Island, Dandelion, Philips, Liberty etc... and now I am going to SELL them ( I must be mad ). I have been quite fussy about the QUALITY, CONDITION and they must be the VERY FIRST PRESSINGS. The latter has been the hardest to decipher and has had me buying and selling many copies of the same album to achieve this, and I almost have with these collectable gems.
I am not and have never been a 'dealer' by profession, but I have always given honest descriptions and lots of clear photo's of any items I have sold. I do know how disappointing it is when you open that package and the item has been over sold with expressions such as "AWESOME" etc when the item is only in EX- condition or worse. If you are in anyway disappointed with an item from me you are most welcome to return it with a FULL REFUND, providing it is an honest and just mistake by myself as I believe in my descriptions.

For sale here is--THE OPEN MIND--(self titled)-- UK ORIGINAL VERY FIRST PRESSING WITH VERY FIRST PRESSING SLEEVE, ON THE PHILIPS LABEL 1969, stereo SBL 7893.(844 241 BY)
SLEEVE.....NON-GATEFOLD and LAMINATED. This sleeve is in lovely condition, It is a GENUINE VERY FIRST PRESSING. This is an out standing copy of this sleeve. It is very flat and square. The colour is very strong and vibrant LIKE NEW. The edges are EX+.The spine is fully legible with some very light creasing. The front is EX with hardly any rubbing to the surface which often makes the surface dull, not in this case though! it is nice and shiney and has NO UNWANTED WRITING, NO STICKER TEARS, NO STICKERS, NO SEEM SPLITS AND NO STAINING there is an impression of a name as though some one has used the sleeve to lean on whilst writing on a piece of paper? other than that there is just some very light surface laminate creases these are minor and un-split. The rear is in the same wonderful condition. NO RINGWEAR. The opening edges have a small amount of feathering but are not torn.. The only other sign of wear is to the tips of the corners. All in all this is in wonderful condition for a 37year old sleeve. EX
LABELS......This is a genuine first pressing, black with silver writing and a rough feel to the surface . There is NO WRITING, NO STICKERS, NO STICKER RESIDUE AND NO TEARS. SIDE-1 just has light spindle hole wear and SIDE-2 has a couple of scuffs. EX/EX
VINYL....Both sides of this fantastic album still have their JUST PRESSED deep black shine. As for surface marks, when you hold this album in the very brightest of lights you can only see very light surface marks NO DEEP SCRATCHES. This album looks PRISTINE in normal day light. Both sides play WITHOUT SCRATCHES, STICKING OR JUMPS. There are dust crackles but I am sure a professional clean would sort out most of that. I have played this album on my very sensitive and revealing LINN SONDEK."WHAT AGREAT ALBUM THIS IS" and the sound is UN-WORN, it is full and crisp there is NO loss of sound quality at all, wonderful sound stage and stereo seperation. This is a superb album in the most wonderful of conditions. These HEAVY VINYL origional pressings are second to none. This really is a top copy that any collector would be delighted to add to their collection, a real KEEPER.EX+/EX+. "STUNNING".
IT IS EXTREMELY RARE IN ANY CONDITION, BUT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE IN THIS 'SUPERB' CONDITION. DONT MISS THIS ONE.
THERE CANT BE MANY LEFT IN THIS LOVELY CONDITION.
AND SO VERY VERY RARE.
