The Ones - Volume One - (1966 Ashwood House AH 1105) - This is a holy grail of New England and garage collectors all over the world. It's been sought after since the early days and you wanna know how often it turns up, even in this age of the internet where rarities got separated from the common ones real fast? NADA! It ain't no Justice lp where the exhiliration of owning it disappears after you play it. There are a couple of clunkers, but this is one that deserves all the heaping praise. The original, 'Maybe It's Both Of Us' is a KILLER!! Great covers that have a bit of a Remains feel probably because these guys could really play.
Please pay attention to the description...
The first two tracks on side two are unplayable. It's a shame because the vinyl on this side looks like a strong VG+. It's also weird that several collectors that have this album say that their copy skips in the same songs. Maybe everyone just played those two to death! The rest of the side plays perfectly. Side 1 looks almost near mint. Definitely VG++!! And there is nothing wrong at all with this side. It looks and plays NM.
The jacket has very light wear on both front and back cover. The seam at the top is showing small signs of beginning to split. It does not have heavy seam wear. There is just a small space or two that you can see it starting to open. Less than an inch in the middle.
This is not a record that has to be hyped for rarity. All the big collectors are aware of how little this one actually turns up.
You do not have to worry about this item being packaged improperly or being poorly described. I have been buying/selling garage records for almost 30 years.
