Up for grabs is The Moody Blues' "Days of Future Passed" - on the 1967 Deram (London) Records MONO pressing - catalog # DE-16012.  This PROMOTIONAL ISSUED ONLY, heavy-weighted vinyl record is another classic collectible from my personal collection of 35+ years.  Although the vinyl is not in all that great of condition, it is what it is.  This rare piece of classic recording history is very hard to find, limited in pressing, and overall a nice VG- set.   The appearance is still appealing, especially considering this copy has the "PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE" label applied to the front of the jacket.

As most vinyl collectors know, this is a very hard LP to locate or to own.  Many collectors don't ever get to see a copy, except in photos, so here is your chance to get a copy for your own.  One that would be a great addition to any collection.

My research on this copy has concluded that it is all original, and has all the original markings of being pressed at Monarch (CA), with Bell Sound engineering.  As for, what looks to be a Sam Feldman mark ("SF" in script) - one would have to do other research to determine if he actually worked with the recording.  I've read that he was in NY in the late 60s and also worked on some the Beatles late 60s productions - namely Lennon's "Imagine" in 1969.

Days of Future Passed is the second album and first concept album by English rock band The Moody Blues, released in December 1967 on Deram Records.[2][4] After two years performing as a struggling white R&B band, The Moody Blues were asked by their record label in September 1967 to record an adaptation of Antonín Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 9 as a stereo demonstration record.[4] Instead, the band chose to record an orchestral song cycle about a typical working day.[4]

Recording sessions for the album took place at Decca Studios in West Hampstead, London during May 9 to November 26, 1967.[8] The band worked with record producer Tony Clarke, engineer Derek Varnals, and conductor Peter Knight.[2] The album's music features psychedelic rockers,[2] ballads by singer-songwriter and guitarist Justin Hayward, Mellotron played by keyboardist Mike Pinder,[4] and orchestral accompaniment by the London Festival Orchestra.[2]

CONDITION

Labels:  side 1 - VG/VG- / clear print / bright colors / spindle marks / light handling wear and staining at hole

             side 2 - VG/VG- / clear print / bright colors / spindle marks / light handling wear and light staining around hole

Album Visual Qualitative: side 1 - G+ / side 2 - G+

 - Overall, this copy has surface and/or sleeve marks/scuffs on both sides that does have an affect on the sound quality.   

Audio Quality: VG/VG-

 - Album was played and the sound quality is as expected and classified with the visual grading.  This record, when played, does have clicks and pops and has two very slight/minor skips - one on each side:  S1 - track 1 and S2 - track 1, but does play all the way through on both sides, otherwise.  Overall it is an enjoyable LP for 45+ years old.

Inner Sleeve: VG

 - The original inner sleeve had minor handling wear, but still has nice colors.

Cover: VG

 - This jacket still retains a lot of its original gloss and all of its printing, although it does have slight ring, shelf, storage and handling wear.  The spine is still intact - has all its print, but there are beginning signs of age from storage.  Overall, the jacket is holding up rather well, given its age of 45+ yrs.

- This heavy-weighted cardboard jacket is also very sturdy when laid flat.  There are signs of handling and shelf wear, and there is what looks to be label residue (radios station?) on the front and back cover at the top , near the spine on both sides. The corners all have rounding and slight wear.  The top and bottom edges show very little signs of feathering and are overall fairly clean.  The bottom edge does show more shelf wear than the top near the spine.  There is some droplet staining on the lower front cover near the spine.        

 - The back cover, barring any other previous noted impefections, still retains nice, clear print to the slick-back, but does have light ring wear, label residue at the top, and a name written in ink at the bottom, near the spine.  The jacket back is off-white in color.   
 
 - Overall, a nice copy from my collection.  Please review the pictures for additional clarity of the jacket, label and other characteristics.

**Action figures will be visually graded only and will use "C" grade packaging guidelines for grading (see below).

**LPs and 45 rpm records will be graded based upon the 2004 Official Record Price Guide, as well as, Goldmine and eBay record grading standards.  As with all visual and hearing grades, they are subjective and not conclusive and your grading may be different.

All items are sold "AS IS", but I will do my best to describe each item to the best of my ability.  All items are carefully visually graded to give you, the bidder, the most information and the best details related to the item.  If you have questions, please be sure to ask BEFORE you bid and BEFORE the auction is over.  I will not honor bid retractions due to a person stating that the item isn't "what they thought", when they have not asked any questions. All play grades of vinyl records are stated and based only upon my viewpoint of the grade.  Although, I do play the record on a Pioneer direct-drive turntable, using a Stanton needle.    

All visual grades for vinyl auctions are based upon the following standards:

• SS  Still Sealed - in factory-fresh condition
• NM  Near Mint - a near perfect, probably unplayed, but opened record

• VG+  Very Good Plus - close to 'like new' with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Only well cared for records will grade out to VG+. Will satisfy all but the most demanding collector.

• VG  Very Good - a used, reasonable copy. There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
• VG-  Very Good Minus - significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise.
• G+  Good Plus. In the record world, 'Good' is not good! From here on down (Fair, Poor), we're talking about beat-up records.

Loose toys and figures:

1. Mint: the item is like new in perfect condition and may achieve (90% of maximum value)
2. Near Mint: the item is almost perfect, with very minor imperfections (80% of value)
3. Excellent: the item will have had very careful use, with only small imperfections (60%)
4. Good: the item will have had more use, showing obvious imperfections (40%)
5. Fair: the item will have heavy signs of wear, showing major imperfections (20%)
6. Poor: the item will be in distressed condition, with many faults and may include repaints (10%)

Carded toys and figures:

C10 (Mint)   

-          Card is flat with bright, clear colors. Depending on original condition, most cards have a noticeable sheen.  No stains, tears, holes, or writing (with the possible exception of autographs.)

-          Card may be punched or un-punched, though some collectors view an un-punched card with no other flaws as the pinnacle of "mintness."

Edges                        - Tight, no fraying or separation allowed

Corner Curl  - None allowed

Creases         - None allowed

Price Tag / Card Surface Tears - None allowed

Blister Bubble           - Clear, completely attached, no yellowing, no crushing, no dents, dings, malformations or cracks of any size

-          Card is flat (or nearly flat) with bright, clear colors. Depending on original condition, most cards have a noticeable sheen.  No stains, tears, holes, or writing (with the possible exception of autographs. 

-          Card may be punched or un-punched

Edges                        - Tight, no fraying or separation allowed

Corner Curl - Minimally allowed if no creasing or cracking has occurred (i.e., card probably could be flattened out without further damage). Should be barely noticeable

Creases         - None allowed

Price Tag / Card Surface Tear - None allowed

Blister Bubble - Clear, completely attached, no yellowing, no crushing.  Minimal dents or dings should be/if barely noticeable on the card.  No severe malformations or cracks of any size

C6-7 (Fine) 

-          Card may be curled and/or creased to some degree (no cracking of ink/print). Colors are still reasonably bright though some of the original sheen may have faded.

-          Card has no major tears, stains, holes or writing (with the possible exception of autographs. 

-          Card may be punched or un-punched

Edges                        - Most are tight. May have some minor fraying or separation (section[s] less than 1 inch in length total)

Corner Curl  - Maybe more pronounced with minor permanent creasing/cracking of print and/or fraying of card at corners (1-2 corners)

Creases         - Minor creases allowed. No cracking of print or ink allowed along creases

Price Tag / Card Surface Tear - Small tears (less than 1/8 inch) permitted

Blister Bubble - Some yellowing may have occurred. Bubble may appear light tan or yellowish, but not dark tan or brown. Bubble is not opaque. Bubble is still primarily attached (i.e., there is no possibility that the figure could have been removed), though may have detached sections smaller than 1/2 inch without tears to any other part of the card front. Bubble may show some signs of damage or crushing if reformed. Minor dents or dings are allowable. Cracks less than 1/8 inch are allowed

C4-5 (Good)          

-          Card may be curled or creased permanently including cracked print/ink. Original sheen may have almost completed faded to a flat, dull finish though colors remain.

-          Card may have small tears (less than 1/2 inch).

-          Card may also have some stains/dirt and/or writing (including autographs). Small holes may also be present (1-3 pinholes or one large hole less than 1/4 inch in diameter)

Edges                        - May have some minor fraying or separation (section[s] less than 3 inches in length total)

Corner Curl  - May be severe with permanent creasing/cracking of print with severe fraying of card corners (1-4 corners)

Creases         - More severe creases that may include cracking of print or ink

Price Tag / Card Surface Tear - Larger tears (less than 1/4 inch) permitted

Blister Bubble - More pronounced yellowing may be present. Bubble may be medium tan, but not completely brown. Bubble is not completely opaque. Bubble is still primarily attached (i.e., there is no possibility that the figure could have been removed), though it may have detached sections smaller than 1 inch. This detachment may involve other parts of the card front including tears to the print/ink. Bubble may have cracks less than 1/4 inch. May have pronounced bubble damage such as crushing or large dents without any reformation

-          Card may be almost completely folded over or severely curled/creased including cracked print/ink. Original sheen may have completely faded to a flat, dull finish and colors/inks themselves may have also faded/discolored.

-          Card may have more pronounced tears or holes

Edges                        - May have pronounced fraying and separation (greater than 3 inches total)

Corner Curl  - May be severe with permanent creasing/cracking of print with severe fraying of card corners (2-4 corners)

Creases         - Card may be permanently creased with cracked print/ink. Card can be almost completely folded over

Price Tag / Card Surface Tear - More pronounced tears on card surface (1/4 up to 1 inch)

Blister Bubble - Severe yellowing may be present. Card may be completely brown or opaque in sections. Bubble is still attached, though it may be detached on up to two complete sides. Although unlikely, it may be possible that the figure could have been removed and re-inserted into bubble. Detached areas may involve the card front surface including pronounced tears in the print/ink. Corner Curl  - Corners may be severely curled or torn with permanent creasing/cracking (< 2 corners)

Price Tag / Card Surface Tear - Large tears (over 1 inch) due to price tag or other removal may be present
