 TITLE:    "The Growing Concern"

ARTIST :  THE GROWING CONCERN    (1st album)

 LABEL:  Mainstream  56108     DJ copy

 VINYL GRADE:      NM-   VG++

COVER GRADE:     NM-  no seam splits or spline prob. (see notes below)

RARE original LP on the Mainstream label. Favorably reviewed in The Great Acid Archives and featured in Hans Pokora's record collector dreams. Vinyl is excellent with just a few light paper scuffs, nothing to affect play. Label is clean. The cover, which is in super condition, has NO seam splits, scuffs, tears or Spline problems. The cover says stereo but has a mono sticker on the front, while the back cover is stamped - D.J. NOT FOR SALE. The girls face on the back has some light ink marks which is hard to see. Overall this is a great SUPER RARE album from 1968.

All records are conservatively graded visually under a bright light to the best of my ability. These records have NOT been machine cleaned. Please use enlargement for better viewing and read descriptions carefully. If there is a problem, there is a fourteen day return for full refund including shipping ,only if record is not as described - no questions asked. Please feel free to email me if there are any questions.

GRADING: I will use Jerry Osborne's 10 Point Grading System along with the Standard Mint to Good. In my opinion Osborne is by far the leading authority on records. If you can't find a listing in Goldmine, there is a 99% chance you will find it in Osborne's Rockin Records Guide.

It is as follows:

  • 10 = Mint
  • 9 = Near Mint
  • 8 = Better Than Very Good but below Near Mint
  • 7 = Very Good
  • 6 = Better than good but below Very Good
  • 5 = Good
  • 4 = Better than Poor, but below Good
  • 3 = Poor
  • 2 = Really Trashed
  • 1 = Don't Ask

I will not be selling anything below 5. It would have to be extremely rare for me to do so.

Record Grading Criteria:

  • Sealed = Store New (10) (LP's Only)
  • Mint = (10)
  • Near Mint = Like new with only 1 or 2 insignificant defects. (9)
  • Near Mint Minus = Would be near mint except for a couple of light marks or scuffs which do not affect play. (8)
  • VG++ = Very nice record with all or nearly all of it's gloss but may have a few more light surface marks, scruffs or needle marks which do not affect play. (7)
  • VG+ = Nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches and plays with a few pops but no serious problems (6)
  • VG to VG- = A well-used record that sounds okay when played, but may have moderate surface noice, pops, but plays without skipping. (5)
