Description

I don't believe you'll find a better copy of this awesome soul LP from The Contours. It's entitled 'Do You Love Me Now That I Can Dance?' released in 1963 on the UK Oriole (Motown Series) label (catalogue no. PS 40043). It's a mono recording. The sleeve is laminated on the front and is a flipback type. The front of the sleeve shows almost no creases and no tears. The edges and spine are almost perfect and all the wording on the spine is 100% legible. There is some slight damage to the bottom flipback but this genuinely doesn't detract from the overall quality of the sleeve. There is slight discolouration on the back of the sleeve which isn't laminated but the overall quality is fine. In the bottom right hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve are printed the words - 'Printed in England by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London'. Sleeve notes are by Paul Drew. The only real blemish on the reverse of the sleeve is the original price (10/6 = ten shillings and sixpence) written in light ballpen in the top left hand corner. The sleeve has been conservatively graded as VG++. The record plays beautifully on both sides with very little surface noise and only the very occasional light pop or click. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are PS 40043 A and PS 40043 B respectively. There are some light spindle marks on the labels but, for a record which is now 43 years old the lack of marks on both the record and labels is unbelievable. This is absolutely essential for both soul and doo wop/rock n roll collectors. I have set a reasonable reserve price. Good luck.
