Description
Rare 1966 South African first press 14-track mono LP of the Beatles’ Revolver (PMCJ7009), pressed on the black alternate style Parlophone label. Firstly, unusually, the center label lists the running time of 'Eleanor Rigby' as 2 minutes and 96 seconds. 'Dr. Robert' is listed as 'Dr. Robert' both on label and cover. Lastly, also contains the matrix run-outs ( XEX 606-1 matrix on Side 2) that are identical to the rare first UK press containing the withdrawn mix of 'Tomorrow Never Knows', making it possible that this particular press also has the same mix present on the vinyl
Overall, this is a fairly good copy. The sleeve is G condition. (see pictures). Solid overall, but the main defect is at the front where there is a large yellowish discoloration stain covering at least half of the sleeve. The back is in very good shape; with the expected but minimal general wear.
The vinyl is the total opposite, a super VG+ condition - really great and one of the best I've seen. The labels are in very good condition.
A great, rare addition for 60’s & more so Beatles collectors worldwide!!

ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT: All vinyl gradings are purely based on the visual aspects using standard record collector guide gradings. On occasions for marks that may appear to be a concern on the vinyl, there would be a play-test to discern if the vinyl plays throughout with a brief description of other findings. Please consider that each person has different equipment, system, personal taste etc. which will obviously give widely different sonic experiences and personal opinion. Therefore, I will not be held accountable for refunds (including partial) if your listening experience or opinion of playing the vinyl is not to your full satisfaction.
