Description
THE BEATLES REVOLVER LP 1966 PARLOPHONE MONO PMC7009 DR ROBERT MISPRINT VG-/VG-.
VG- vinyl as there are some light surface hairlines on both sides as expected with the grade, but record plays through well without any skips or jumps on my deck, still sounds great for a rare early copy of this classic album.
VG- sleeve, has some light storage wear to edges and back, but still in great shape, laminate on front still good, as is the original inner sleeve. Some spindle wear on label but still good condition on both sides.
The all important deadwax stamps are:
Matrix / Runout (Side A runout stamped) XEX 605-2
Matrix / Runout (Side B runout stamped) XEX 606-3
Parlophone Yellow Label, Mono, PMC7009
This makes it a first press after the -1/-1 press - so an original 1966 pressing which can be identified by the misspelling of ‘Dr Robert’ on both the label and sleeve - making it a rare early 1966 variant according to Discogs. The later 1966 to 1969 mono pressings with the corrected ‘Doctor Robert’ spelling were the revised -2/ -2 cut.
In good shape for a 55 year old record, never going to be a mint copy as these records were meant to be played and enjoyed, but still plays well considering with light pop and crackle associated with hairlines and play wear - a great rare early mis-print variant of this classic Beatles album, and a highly collectible record.
