Description

THE BEATLES "Please Please Me'. Germany Odeon ZTOX 5550. Super rare export only LP.   Read on for details of this rare variant to standard issues making this quite special, and in a condition that is just outstanding.  I believe this is a rare chance to get this rare issue in almost unbeatable condition.

This is a rarely seen variant with the "1X" Matrix.  The cover is also of a different construction, as it is not a pasted slick, like other issues. It also has no "ges.gesch" print like the standard cover.

I have included numerous photos, and supersized them so you can get a good look. Ebay only allows 12 photos, I have taken over 20 , close ups on all corners and details, please , if you want more photos, please request more and I will email you with them directly.

Vinyl:  Looks stone MINT. I will say M- to be conservative. It seriously looks unplayed. I looked very hard under strong light and can see NO sign of use or marks at all. Strangely, there is a blemish in the run out on side B, but this looks like a factory 'cloud' in the vinyl, factory made, not a scratch or use mark.   Housed in a die cut inner bag advertising other LP's. This is also flat, unwrinkled, with just a seam split in one side of the bag.

Matrix Into:

Side 1: SHZE 117A - 1X

Side 2: SHZE 117B - 1.

Labels:  MINT.

Cover: Superb.  Must rate EX++ to Mint-.  See pictures, I can send more to see from every angle. Only issues are a tiny edge push to lower right corner, and slight evidence of disc impression when held to light. Lovely gloss, lovely seams and spine.

Lastly, as an interesting note:

This album came from a seller who had this and 2 other German pressed Beatles  albums I will be listing shortly.  ALL 3 LP's are MINT!! Inside the sleeves were two retail receipts, from Sam Goody (major Record store in the USA )  dated 26 July 1968.

The others were Hard day's Night *(O83 739) and With the Beatles (STO73 568), which are pressings which date from 1967 I believe.

I wonder if Please Please Me was somehow exported and sold in this US record store along with these other German albums? in 1968? Does anyone know? I know that Please Please Me was only supposed to be sold on US military bases in Germany.

POSTAGE: This rare LP must be sent via registered/tracked mail. I will send worldwide by EMS tracked/signed for service for $25.00. This applies to all countries including USA and Canada.  This is well under the actual cost, but I must insist on use of this secure service. LP will be double boxed and packed with care, disc separate, corners with extra reinforcement.

Do not pay any attention to Ebay's shipping costs of $4.00 as these are for items shipped within the USA. I am in New Zealand.

I use Record Collector Grades of M / EX / VG / G.  Vinyl graded visually.

I pack well, discs removed from sleeves.
