Description
This is the Beatles first album on Parlophone (PCS 3042) and is in stereo. The matrix numbers are YEX 94-1 and YEX 95-1 and there are also the letters L and GM engraved in the inner vinyl on sides 1 and 2 respectively. I purchased the album new in the '60s and have looked after it well. It has been stored vertically in a record cabinet alongside other LPs all its life.
The record has a few barely visible surface marks which can only just be seen if held at an angle with a light shining on it. It plays very well with no skipping or jumping and there seems to be hardly any surface noise or sound deterioration after all these years.
The front cover is in excellent condition with a clearly legible spine with no splits in the lamination. There is a very tiny spot of wear at the bottom right hand corner (about 2mm - just visible on photo), presumably where the album has been inserted in the record cabinet between other records. The back of the album cover is also in very good condition, though it has the usual very slight yellowing and ageing cardboard covers seem to get after all these years. It also has a small tear, but only in the thin in the laminate layer, in the top right hand corner. This can just be seen on the photo and is where the laminate folds over from the front. The cover is printed by Earnest J Day.
The album comes with its original inner sleeve which has no folds, splits or tears.
