Description

 

Very rare 1963 South African press of The Beatles’ classic, timeless debut Please Please Me, made on the navy old-school Parlophone label (PMCJ 1202)

This isn't the best copy around but still alive! The cover is in G condition with noticeable defects. Although the front is just okay, the spine has been slightly taped sort of midway point, therefore the print is mildly legible.  Another taped part of a small tear on the opening (right-side) edge sort of midway point also.  The back does exhibit noticeable but slight discoloration due to age ; faint ring-wear ; some light discoloration spots/smudges here and there. Still just presentable enough. Overall rating =G.


The vinyl is also in G condition. There are a considerable number of noticeable scuff marks on both sides to evidence this has been a vinyl that has been played before. Surface noise and similar is expected (crackle etc) in various levels depending on equipment but nothing drastic enough to affect playback adversely. The centre labels are in very good condition with just very light spindle wear on one side mainly.

 

Nonetheless a great addition for 60’s & more so Beatles collectors worldwide, as it's still a rare find even in this condition.
