The BEATLES colllectors will need no introduction for this, the most desirable of the British BEATLES original LPs! Suffice to say that this is the INCREDIBLY SCARCE STEREO COPY of their first album on the Parlophone label having the first label style where the print and logo is in gold lettering.
Mint condition copies have fetched well over £5,000 and I do not see signs of these prices ever lowering as there are no more than a handful of these in existance.
The copy I am offering here is, unfortunately, not in 'mint' condition but it does give a real fan the chance to add this to their collection of first issues at a more moderate price.
I will describe all aspects below but I must stress, this is not a badly damaged copy at all, the front cover looks superb and the playing surfaces are grest. More importantly, both labels are really clean and have a good shine, not the dull appearance that some of these have.
FRONT COVER: Very clean with hardly any creasing. The lower left and top right corners are very slightly crushed and the top and lower corners on the right hand edge have light creases of about 15mm only. The laminate is intact and has not lifted anywhere.
BACK COVER: Adhesive tape along the lower edge which has split although there is nothing missing. In the centre of the top a previous owner has written his name and the date and place of purchase, "1963, Singapore" in black ink. I actually rather like this piece of authenticity and wonder how he was able to get such a rare item in Singapore, it must have been specially ordered from London!
RECORD SIDE 1: A few light surface marks but absolutely no deep scratches. I have played this all through, it never jumps or skips, there are a few crackles between tracks and, boy, is it loud! The label is in excellent condition.
RECORD SIDE 2: As side 1 but with even less surface marks; very shiny!
INNER COVER: Original EMI / Parlophone.
So, to recap, this is a real chance to get the most deairable first issue of the first BEATLES LP from a real genuine dealer who promises you that you will not be disappointed!
