Description
I have owned this original copy of Please Please Me since it came out in 1963; in fact it was the first LP that I bought, being a child of the 60s! So it is with some regret that I am offering it for sale but hope to find another owner who will treasure it as I have done. The record still plays like new, and although it does have a few superficial scratches, it doesn't stick or jump anywhere. It has the yellow on black Parlophone labels, which are in good condition. Record No: PMC1202, with Matrix codes XEX 421 - 1N, GAA (Side 1) and XEX 422 - 1N, GAD (Side 2). The Sleeve is by Ernest J Day & Co Ltd and the photo on the front cover is credited to Angus McBean in very small print at the bottom right-hand corner. As you might expect for an LP that has given such a lot of pleasure over the years, the sleeve shows some signs of wear. The front is fine, the back has some age discolouration and clear tape on the seams and the corners are knocked. The inner sleeve is original Emitex with some splits and creases. Still, I think this all adds to its authenticity - who wants an original Beatles LP with no history? As I said earlier, it plays perfectly and I'm not a dealer, so please don't expect me to be too technical! P&P UK £2.50. Overseas at cost. Insurance to be paid by buyer if this is required.
