THE ULTIMATE BEATLES COLLECTION - 14 LP BOX SET
Purchased new in the early 1980's this set was individually numbered as set 11,653 from the first run of 25,000. Discs have been played at least once on a high end turntable and stereo system and none have been played more than twice.
Description - Mobile Fidelity's 'Beatles - The Collection' box set is arguably the greatest sounding release of the Beatles albums ever; considerably better than the standard LP or CD releases. All 14 albums in this box set were mastered at half speed from the original master tapes, and pressed onto pure super vinyl by JVC, which has an extraordinarily quiet playing surface, extreme durability and a lifespan many times exceeding conventional pressings.
These out-of-print LP’s are the very finest of the audiophile LP market. The future of these collectibles is exciting because each piece is a sonic work of art that will never be reproduced. Includes - This impressive set was released worldwide in September 1982. The set of half-speed mastered records was presented in a handsome black box with gold foil printing. Each set is sequentially numbered and includes a beautiful 38-page booklet containing the artwork for each album with the official booklet incorporating a numbered certificate of authenticity. Each of the virgin vinyl discs are protected in a special dust free protective inner sleeve and a gatefold card MFSL Custom Picture outer sleeve displaying the master tape of the A and B sides for each particular recording, plus dates on which the recordings took place.

Condition - The overall set itself is great shape with some minor flaws as disclosed. Please read below and refer to photos. Ask any questions. Photos above were taken of each side with a normal light and then a brighter light to emphasize all blemishes.
Vinyl/Jackets - All jackets and LPs have been individually examined for flaws. As a whole, the jackets/covers have solid integrity throughout and great gloss. All spines are solid except for minor flaws as listed below. The LPs are pristine with high gloss luster. The labels are also pristine with the faintest spindle wear if at all. The jacket corners show a minor amount of wear. None of the wear is to the point where the cardboard is torn on intrusive.
Here below are the blemishes found:
LP #1. With The Beatles - There is a small mark at the spindle hole. Unsure if it is from wear or a factory error.
LP #3. A Hard Day's Night - There is a small scuff on the 4th track "I'm Happy Just To Be With You" which does not appear to be a scratch.
LP #12. Abbey Road - The spine of the outer jacket shows slight wear. One of the letters on "Abbey" is missing. Uncertain if it is due to wear or a factory flaw. (see photo)
LP #14. Let it Be - The outside jacket has slight lifting in one corner. See photo. The spine and rest of jacket is Near Mint. LP - High gloss. Near Mint Vinyl. The label on side 2 has a very small flaw. See photo. It looks like a tiny factory flaw. Besides this flaw, both labels are in mint condition.
Geo-Disc - Cover has a blemish along the spine that is approximately 1" long. Its cover also has some light scuffs at the front. See Photo. PLEASE NOTE: The scuffs are consistent with a poor design of the cabinet. We have seen the same type of scuffs on the Geo-Discs in other Original Master Recording Collections, the Geo-Discs fit too snug.
Special Collection Storage Box – The case is in excellent condition. There is minor wear on the bottom with the felt worn on the corners and along the edge of one of the sides. There are no scuff marks breaking through the corners, no tears, no holes. The brass hinges and latch are showing minor tarnish but they are in perfect working shape and have not been cleaned. The sides show some shelf wear. There is a scratch on one side and there are some slight discolorations and indentations on the covering which are cosmetic from its age. None affect the solid integrity of the cabinet or the function of doors opening or closing. Please see all photos.

In listings like this, with many separate components, it's possible to overlook some small things. For this reason, we just checked everything again so as to be confident of accuracy. We're glad we did because we found something we originally overlooked. There are two very small dot scratches on track 2 ("Girl") on Rubber Soul, LP #6. Sorry for the initial oversight. We trust you will understand. If you are the winning bidder and did not see this paragraph before bidding we will not hold you to your bid, if you prefer.
