Mid 80s collection of tracks from various sources, in very good to excellent audio.
TRACK DETAILS:
Side 1, all mono. Side 2 mono & stereo:
A1 One After 909; Ringo has confirmed playing the drums so this dates the tape to post August 1962. Jacket incorrectly states "EMI but is actually a Cavern Rehearsal.
A2 Catswalk; Ringo has confirmed playing the drums so this dates the tape to post August 1962. Also from the Cavern Rehearsal.
A3 Bad To Me; Acoustic Demo, spring 1963
A4 How Do You Do It; Take 1, 04 Sep 1962. Pre "Sessions" mix
A5 Do You Want To Know A Secret; Take 7, 11 Feb 1963
A6 Leave My Kitten Alone; Takes 4-5, 14 Aug 1964
A7 If You've Got Trouble; Take 1, External/Monitor source, 18 Feb 1965 (NOT the "Sessions" mix, it's an external recording of a studio playback)
A8 Shout; Recorded for TV special "Around The Beatles", 19 Apr 1964, at IBC Studios for a lip-synch performance on the show
A9 Medley; Recorded for TV special "Around The Beatles", 19 Apr 1964, at IBC Studios for a lip-synch performance on the show
A9½ BBC, Today, 16 Jun 1965. A snippet of John reciting his John "The National Health Cow". Listed on label as track 9½ but not on jacket.
B1 Yes It Is; Take 14, 16 Feb 1965. Dry STEREO mix. John saying "K, Oh let's go, let's get out of here" was edited onto the front, from an outtake of "I'm A Loser". The actual record was edited onto the end of this take, at the wrong speed and in mono!
B2 Paperback Writer; Take 2, 13 Apr 1966. Dry STEREO mix (no effects)
B3 Your Mother Should Know; Take 8, 22 Aug 1967. This take was used to create Take 9 (the released take) as a reduction mix onto which numerous overdubs were made. The very end of the released version is tagged on at the end. (mono)
B4 Birthday; 18 Sep 1968. The backing track is phased down, focusing on the vocals and handclaps. (mono)
B5 Goodbye; Paul's Demo for Mary Hopkin, Feb 1969 (mono)
B6 I've Got A Feeling; Get Back Sessions, 27 Jan 1969 (mono)
B7 I Me Mine; Take 16, 03 Jan 1970. Without the extra middle added in and before the Phil Spector overdubs
B8 A Day In The Life; Take 6, 7 & Edit Piece 9, 20 Jan 1967; Alternate stereo mix (# unknown) is very much like the official release except for some details: John's count in still present. Unlike the other previous attempts, this one is complete and features the Edit Piece 9 (note that some bootlegs present this version without the edit piece 9)
Track A8 shown as Shout! on the label (i.e. with an exclamation mark).
