THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE RAREST UK SINGLES FROM THE BEATLES!

What we have on offer here is one of the scarcest Beatles singles we have ever had through BEANOS!

It is a seven inch, four track single running at 33rpm and has been pressed by the BBC (British Broadcasting Company) by their 'transcription service'.  This branch of the BBC generally made recordings to be sent abroad and played on their World Service stations.  The few records that are generally seen from them are 12 inch LPs not a four track 7".

The record is pressed on the normal vinyl (not an acetate) and has the following matrix numbers in the dead wax area:  side 1, L-1453 and STC 6663-A, side 2, L-1453X and STC 6663-B.

The condition of both labels are unmarked and unwritten, the playing surfaces are 'near mint' and the audio quality is perfect.  There is no fault with this record in any way and it is hard to believe it is 45 years old.

2.    Soldier of Love

3.    Lend me your comb

4.    Clarabella

Between tracks there are some spoken comments from Brian Matthew, John Lennon and George Harrison.

Fans of the Beatles will be familiar with the LP / CD "The Beatles Live at the BBC" released in 2001and will immediately recognise that these four tracks are amongst those used on that double album.  All those recordings, issued for the first time officially, were taken from the BBC archives.  What you have here is something that actually dates from when they were first recorded!  You can see that the dates on the label show the tracks to have been recorded on the "02.07.63" and, further up on the right hand side of the label is the expiry for the broadcast of these tracks of "03.08.63"  This disc therefore actually dates from mid 1963!

There is another rather nice piece of memorabilia that comes with this item.  The record we are offering here was first sold to BEANOS back in 1998 and when it was offered to us for purchase, the owner wrote a letter which I reproduce below:

I make no apologies for any spelling and syntax errors!  the sentiments of the vendor come across wery well after 20 years.  I have covered over his name and address but will include this letter with the record as I feel it adds a piece to its history.

I really cannot stress enough how incredibly desirable this Beatles 7" single is.  There is no question that it will sell to one of the major Beatles collectors and investors and I have deliberately commenced this auction with, what I consider, to be a realistic starting price.

Since it is so unusual I would not be suprised if, even this level of collector, has not seen one before so I would be more than happy to receive any questions and comments.
