Joseph Szigeti, violin performs "The Art of Joseph Szigeti" on Columbia M6X 31513 (6 LPs/Box/Illustrated Booklet). This 6 LP compilation box set honors the great violinist Joseph Szigeti on his 80th Birthday (1972). It features violin concertos by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Mendelssohn & Prokofiev. It also includes live performances (first release) of Beethoven Violin Sons. #5 & #10. In addition short works by Handel, Dvorak, Kreisler, Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov & Bartok. There are also two Bach sonatas for solo violin. A great set by this great master of the violin! Records (appear unplayed) & box are in NEAR MINT condition.
