Out-of-print (5) LP boxset from Thad Jones titled "The Complete Blue Note/UA/Roulette Recordings Of Thad Jones" released by Mosaic Records (MQ5-172) in 1997. This set is numbered 3024 of 7,500 limited edition pressing on audiophile 180 gram quality vinyl. Has 27 tracks from various recording sessions circa 1956-1960 including previously unreleased takes. Great line-up of musicians that included Kenny Burrell, Billy Mitchell, Tommy Flanagan, Elvin Jones, Max Roach and other notables from the most exciting time in jazz music history. All vinyl records are in plastic dust sleeves. Comes with a 12-page booklet with photos and well-written, informative details about Thad Jones and the various recording sessions. As you well know, all of Mosaic's releases are of the utmost quality and taste.


Details of the condition: All labels are in EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT condition. Vinyl records were played with great care on a high quality turntable and condition ranges from MINT- to NEAR MINT. Side A of Record 5 has some scuffing along part of the very outer edge of the platter just before the lead-in groove. Just to be sure, I test-played the first track and could not detect any affect from the scuffing.

Booklet is in MINT condition.

Outer box is in NEAR MINT condition but has a bump in the photo paste-on just below Thad Jones' armpit caused by a piece of debris that was trapped in the manufacturing.
