Description

St. Paul / William & Mary.    clean promo labels.
This one has all kinds of connections.  Terry Knight was one of the members of The Pack/Grand Funk (before they were Grand Funk).  They had major creative and management differences and Terry was "asked" to leave.  This single was released in '69, about the same time as Grand Funk Railroad issued their first record.
Also in '69, the Paul Is Dead rumors began circulating and that's what inspired this single.  For you serious Beatle collectors out there, this is a real oddity and a must-have.   The label says Hey Jude used by permission and this is the only song in my memory that was published by Maclen Music but not written by any of the Beatles.
There are no actual Beatlesong snippets, but lyrics and melodies are very suggestive, especially Hey Jude.
