RARE 1975 UK CHRYSALIS PRESSING (CHR 1083) OF TEN YEARS AFTER's TREMENDOUS HEAVY ROCKIN' BLUES LP, "Ssssh" - IN STUNNING ONE/TWO PLAY CONDITION

WHEN THE BAND MOVED FROM DERAM TO CHRIS WRIGHT AND TERRY ELLIS' CHRYSALIS LABEL IN 1970 IT APPEARS AS THOUGH VERY FEW ALBUMS FROM THE TYA BACK CATALOGUE WERE EVER RE ISSUED ON THEIR NEW LABEL, AND THOSE THAT WERE (only this one and 'Cricklewood Green' as far as I am aware) WERE ONLY ISSUED IN VERY LIMITED NUMBERS. IT'S THEREFORE, VERY RARE INDEED TO COME ACROSS A UK COPY OF 'SSSH' ON THIS LABEL - ESPECIALLY ONE THAT'S IN SUCH BEAUTIFUL CONDITION

PRESSED ON QUALITY MID-WEIGHT VINYL WHICH DELIVERS TREMENDOUS AUDIO WITH A NICE LOUD CUT
THE RECORD HAS THE GREEN 'BUTTERFLY' CHRYSALIS LABELS
MATRIX: CHR 1083 A-1U / CHR 1083 B-2 (etched "Bilbo")
AND IS HOUSED IN A SINGLE (NON-GATEFOLD) FULLY LAMINATED, DEEPLY GLOSSY SLEEVE “Printed in England by Robor Limited.”

Ssssh was Ten Years After's new release at the time of their incendiary performance at the Woodstock Festival in August, 1969.
As a result, it was their first hit album in the U.S., peaking at number 20 in September of that year but didn't chart in the UK.
This recording is a primer of British blues-rock of the era, showcasing Alvin Lee's guitar pyrotechnics and the band's propulsive rhythm section.
As with most of TYA's work, the lyrics were throwaways, but the music certainly is not.
Featured is a lengthy cover of Sonny Boy Williamson's "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl," with reworked lyrics leaving little doubt as to what the singer had in mind for the title character.
Also included was a 12-bar blues song with the ultimate generic blues title "I Woke Up This Morning."

LABELS: LIKE-NEW - CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO wear, NO marks/writing and only ONE or TWO of the lightest spindles - this copy has hardly ever been played
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces have their original DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN and are practically UNMARKED. There is a light circular mark on Side Two possibly caused by a cleaning cloth but this has NO audio consequence - the playback is stunning
VINYL Audio: OUTSTANDING audio - CRYSTAL CLEAR, WARM, RICH and VIBRANT sound. Nice LOUD cut on this LP. On playback at a LOUD volume there are NO scratches, NO sticks/jumps, NO clicks or pops and NO surface noise. The whole LP plays BEAUTIFULLY THROUGHOUT to an extremely high standard with GREAT CLARITY, NO distortion and NO groove-wear and sounds absolutely SENSATIONAL. Graded as MINT for audio - its FLAWLESS
SLEEVE: The fully laminated single sleeve is also practically AS-NEW. The laminate has a beautiful DEEP GLOSS with just some lifting from the surface on the spine area (it would have been like this since new). All the edges and spine are SHARP with NO wear at all and all text on the spine is CLEAR and BOLD - NEAR MINT
