The band Temple of the Dog was a Seattle rock supergroup that consisted of band members of both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam (featuring drummer Matt Cameron, who was in Soundgarden first, then joined Pearl Jam in the late 1990s, and he's still there to this very day)! Singer Chris Cornell sang lead on most of the songs, with Eddie Vedder lending a hand on "Hunger Strike". Their one and only (self-titled) album was released in 1991, and it's actually amazing! It's a tribute to their friend Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone (and Malfunkshun), who passed away in 1990. 'Temple of the Dog' was released only a few months before Pearl Jam's debut album 'Ten' came out, in 1991.

In 1992, a limited edition 7" picture disc single for the single "Hunger Strike" was released in the UK. It's very cool, and is the sun artwork on the A side, with song titles and credits on the B side. It came in a special PVC jacket with the band name and song titles printed on it. Needless to say, these can go for big bucks, due to the limited number of copies available. But you can grab this bad boy today, and for a really good price! Temple of the Dog is a great example of a band made up of musicians from a couple of Seattle bands (Soundgarden and Pearl Jam), and sounding absolutely incredible. Standout tracks from the album include: "Say Hello 2 Heaven", "All Night Thing", and "Pushing Forward Back", as well as, of course, "Hunger Strike". I really like "Wooden Jesus", and "Call Me a Dog", also. But they're all really, really good songs!

I'll even sweeten the deal! You'll get the scarce 12" X 12" poster flat of the album in this great deal! Poster flats were just that, artwork from the album cover, and flat. Usually made of carboard, and similar to an actual album cover (but thinner). No vinyl. These were made to promote an album, and sent to record shops and occasionally, radio stations. This is a very cool item to have from Temple of the Dog, and the promotional poster flat of that one and only album!

The vinyl itself looks great, with only a couple of very light surface marks on it. No heavy scratches, gouges, or scuffs. PVC sleeve has a two or three inch split on the bottom only. Other than that, looking awesome. The poster flat looks great, with just a little shelf-wear on one corner. No holes, no rips or tears, and no handwriting anywhere on it. A very nice and really rare Temple of the Dog 7" picture disc, its original jacket, and the album sized poster flat of the album cover, ready to come home with you today!

(RIP Andrew and Chris. Both of you were pioneers of the timeless and classic Seattle sound, and both of you were awesome, important and influential musicians. Thank you for the awesome legacy of music from Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, and solo Chris Cornell. We miss you both!)
