Magnificent performance mark this 4 LP stereo box set "The Romantic Rachmaninoff" (RDA 29-A, with booklet) which is on The Absolute Sound (TAS) super disc list for classical recordings of special merit.
The set features Earl Wild, pianist, and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jascha Horenstein.
Included are the complete Rachmaninoff piano concertos plus "Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganini" and the tone poem "Isle Of The Dead (After Boecklin’s Painting)".
The 4 glossy LPs look and play great. Each LP comes is a special inner sleeve with details of each piece and these are protected by a slip case and cover. The box has some minor marks but is otherwise great.
