Description
Here is a chance to own a unique item, one of only 13 test pressings that were made to be circulated amongst the band and to select press.
This is from Richard Allen's personal collection. Richard ran Delerium and signed Porcupine Tree in the early 1990s managing them up until 2003.
Every Delerium vinyl release had a special limited run of test pressings normally with custom sleeves.
The test pressing is date stamped 19th of August 1994.
MOONLOOP EP
Moonloop is an EP released by British psychedelic rock and progressive rock band Porcupine Tree, prior to the release of their third studio album, The Sky Moves Sideways. It was released on vinyl and CD in the UK by Delerium Records.
'Stars Die' was not included on the original UK release of The Sky Moves Sideways but was included on the US version.
The artwork used on the cover of the EP was originally intended as the cover for 'The Sky Moves Sideways' album and was later used on a compilation album by the band titled 'Stars Die: The Delerium Years 1991–1997.'
'Stars Die' was the track that brought the band to the attention of Miles Copeland and gained them a great deal of airplay on Mark Radcliffe's BBC Radio slot. The track 'Moonloop' was a milestone in the development of Porcupine Tree from a studio project into a full band, since it also included future band members Chris Maitland and Colin Edwin.
