Insurgentes is the first Steven Wilson solo album, recorded all over the world between January-August 2008.
This is the special deluxe vinyl mail order version, which is a 4 x 10" set with special hardback book, released in association with vinyl specialists ToneFloat. To keep the quality as high as possible, each side of the LP contains a maximum of 12 minutes playing time. The vinyls are housed in card sleeves bound inside the book.
This vinyl release was limited to 1,000 copies and is now SOLD OUT.
The hardback book contains a breathtaking set of photographs captured by Lasse Hoile and Susana Moyaho during SW's travels around the world making the album and shooting on location for the documentary. All designed by Carl Glover, printed on super high quality paper and bound in a hard cloth cover with embossed text. The ultimate collector's piece. The album will not be made available again in this deluxe form.
The album itself is one of the most creative, emotive and diverse works of SW's career, including everything from sublime ballads, gorgeous shoegazer anthems, to all out industrial noise assaults, enhanced by several guest appearances by both long term and new collaborators. The title of the album comes from Avenida de los Insurgentes, the longest avenue in Mexico City, where some of the album was recorded.
