Description

A stone cold classic from the late sixties. If you're gonna snag an original copy - make sure you insist on an absolute corker of a copy. When fully unlocked this title is truly a MONSTER<
An original 1st issue of MONSTER from Jan 1970 [recorded in summer 1969]. Please note that at the release date Dunhill in the UK were in the process of a full label revision. Very earliest copies can be found on a black label - but within a couple of weeks of this label design discontinuing these Orange label copies were hitting the shelves. An [early] Orange copy is, therefore, only a week behind the very first label design. Matrix A1/B1. The stampers 1H/1GG - inferring that whilst this might be the second label variant, this is still truly a very early pressing from the Feb 70 release date. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold outer laminated cover by E J Day. We also have the original generic company inner. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzer - if you're an audio nut...this would be the copy to plug for. The labels are looking pristine and have surely only seen very light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of slightest marks per side. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Close on to perfect and very very close to the original masters. Hence - audio quality is an absolute sonic masterpiece. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Plays clean as a whistle and packs a serious punch. Can't really knock it. If you are looking for a definitive spin - pay close attention to this one. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) A super gatefold spread and is in super condition given it was printed in the sixties [just!]. Lovely clean and flat front and rear - barely a thumbnail. The interior looks real nice and has avoided ageing - with just lightest handling possible. Minimal edge wear and sharp openings. Spine is 100% intact. Wide and uncompressed - sweet! Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
