Description
This is a LP by the Southern University Jazz Ensemble, self titled, on Jazzstronauts LP-1. Super Rare private press Afro Jazz LP recorded live at the 1971 American College Jazz Festival. The group was conducted by Alvin Batiste and the front of the Jacket is autographed by Batiste along with an inscription. Some of the inscription and the signature are smudged. Jacket VG (moderate overall wear, browning around the edges). Record visually VG- (even wear on both sides, lots of longer and shorter light scuffs on each side). There are a lot of scuffs around the spindle hole on each label. PLEASE NOTE: These LP's were pretty poor pressings and generally have some degree of surface noise even on the cleanest of copies. There is light to moderate surface noise throughout on each side. There are 2 different cover variations for this LP but both would have been used around the same time period. Contains the following tracks: Music Came, Tunjii, Straight Life, North American Idiosyncracy, Milestones, In My Solitude, So What, God Gave Us Song.
