This is the original deep-groove RVH-stamped “P”-pressing of Sonny Red “Out of the Blue” on the West 63rd labels of Blue Note BLP 4032. The playing surface is immaculate, with an amazing luster; perhaps played once. Similarly, the laminated New York 23 cover is as new in all respects. This copy comes from the personal collection of Donald Byrd, stamped on the top left corner of the back slick and on Side 1 label: PROPERTY OF DONALD BYRD.
Personnel include Wynton Kelly, Sam Jones, Paul Chambers, Roy Brooks, and Jimmy Cobb.
