Sonny Clark on Blue Note 4091

 

This is the RVG-stamped (no “P”) mono pressing of Sonny Clark “Leapin’ and Lopin’” on the New York USA labels of Blue Note BLP 4091.  The playing surface is in exceptional condition, with a high luster and just two inaudible hairline scuffs on Side 2; perhaps played once.  The laminated New York 23 cover is also in beautiful condition, with sharp corners and unworn seams; light age toning around the edges of the back slick.  Illustrated Blue Note inner sleeve is included.  Personnel include Charlie Rouse, Ike Quebec, Tommy Turrentine, Butch Warren, and Billy Higgins.
