Description
SOLOMON ILORI & HIS AFRO-DRUM ENSEMBLE - AFRICAN HIGH LIFE, Blue Note 4136, mono, 43 West 61st St on jacket, New York USA on labels, Van Gelder and ear symbol in dead wax, original Blue Note inner sleeve.
The musicians on this rare 1963 recording are Solomon Ilori (vocal, pennywhistle, talking drum, guitar), Chief Bey (conga), Josiah Ilori (sakara drum, cowbell), Robert Crowder (conga, chekere, cowbell), Montego Joe (conga), Garvin Masseaux (conga, xylophone, cowbell), Jay Berliner (guitar), Hosea Taylor (alto sax, flute), Ahmed Abdul-Malik (bass).
The tunes are Tolani, Ise Oluwa, Follow Me To Africa, Yaba E, Jojolo, Aiye Le.
Condition of record is VG+, some scuffing, no scratches, several spindle marks. Plays with some surface noise, not detrimental to the music. Jacket shows slight overall wear, no seam splits, name written on back, 1/2 inch letters.

V = Very Good. Noticeable wear, visual and audible. Records with slight surface noise and/or scuffs fall into this category.
G = Good. Not really all that good. Records in this category have more significant damage or wear.
F = More severe damage, distracting surface noise. Only used in incidence of extreme rarity.
P = Poor condition, proves existence of record only.

We think that most buyers want to receive their winnings quickly, so we offer the fastest mail options and we pack our records very carefully in heavy duty mailers. Shipments are made on Saturday and Tuesday mornings. Records which have been paid for by 3:00 PM on the day before will be shipped on those days.

Canada $12.00 First Class Mail International;
Overseas (Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, South America) $20.00 First Class Mail International.
