I am not a record dealer, just someone who has accumulated a large collection of vinyl in the 1970s and to a certain extent in the 1980s, and now has (sadly) to let my old 'friends' go to new homes (age and inevitable decay- me, not the records).
Three LP box-set in the days when box-sets were a rarity. This retrospective of the Softs seems perhaps dull compared to all the stuff you can find on the internet, but at the time it was a must-have because of the (then) rare glimpses of radio work done at the BBC.
I am not an expert on the grading of records, but I do know that 'Mint' and 'near-Mint' are, for all practical purposes, meaningless. Who buys a record and then never plays it? I adhere to the 'Record Collector' grading system as best I can within the latitude of interpretation. I bought these records because I loved the music and I played them, so some wear and tear is inevitable, I make no apologies for that. I will be as honest as I can about 'surface noise' and crackle/pop, but my advice is that if you own a £1000 deck and a £500 stylus, then only buy true 'mint' pressings or you will live in a constant state of disappointment.
The Box Cover is clean and in good condition. A little scuffing and wrinkle but hardly apparent. EX
The Booklet is clean and undamaged EX
Labels are clean and only very slightly damaged at the edges. EX
The vinyl on visual inspection: Disc 1 Side 1 One tiny mark, Track 1 EX
Side 2 Some minor abrasions VG+ EX
Disc 2 Side 3 two minor scratches VG+ EX
Side 4 A very minor vinyl pressing flaw VG+ EX
Disc 3 Side 5 No Obvious flaws EX
Side 6 No Obvious flaws EX

The sound on playback .
Side 1- Some surface noise, pop/click. Skip on Track 1 VG+
Side 2- Some surface noise, pop/click- improves as it goes VG+
Side 3- Some surface noise, pop/click. VG+
Side 4- As for Side 3 VG+
Side 5- Some surface noise but not too bad VG+
Side 6- As for side 5 VG+
If you own a 'high-spec' system, then this may not be for you- try to find a 'Mint' copy instead.Mint Copies of this version are supposedly trading at £50+ (source: Record Collectors Guide 2020)
