UK 1966
Small Faces were an English Mod band formed in 1965 by Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones, and Jimmy Winston (who was soon replaced by Ian McLagan). Heavily influenced by American Rhythm and blues, they later evolved into one of the UK's most successful psychedelic acts before disbanding in 1969.
Despite the fact that they were only together four years, Small Faces music output from the mid to late sixties remains amongst the most acclaimed British mod and psychedelic music of that era. Allmusic refers to them as "The best English band never to make it big in America." Small Faces were belatedly awarded the Ivor Novello Outstanding Contribution to British Music "Lifetime Achievement" award in 1996. .
Original Mono First Press - a hard find these days!!!!
Vinyl: VG+!! Extremely hard to find this album nowadays. A few hairlines. I played it through all the way. I am glad to be able to report that the vinyl plays through all the way, side 1 and 2. A real credit to this heavy vinyl with high groove walls, PURE QUALITY!!!! Of course, NO skips, NO jumps or clicks. The audio is topnotch! There is some low static background noise in places but this is mostly masked by the fantastic music. This is the real deal, the way it was first issued!!!
I have played this in FULL> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! These tracks ...... you can hear them a thousand times but they will never ever bore you. There are not any jumps or skips. There is not too much background noise at all!! Very remarkable for this 1966 vinyl!!! I played this on my Technics turntable with a Linn cartridge and through my very revealing B&W three way speakers!!!
Sleeve: VG+. Front laminated. This sleeve has stood the tooth of time very well!! The colours are still rich, the spine is intact. On the reverse there is a small area with sellotape glue deposit to the top right corner (see picture), but NO tear. Also a small name P. Selby that is also printed lightly on one of the labels. the tiniest start of a split near the right hand bottom opening, 2cm.
Labels : EX with some spindling. One label has a small name.
Inner: Original MONO polylined in EX condition. No splits.
International postage : This will be sent by registered tracked service if over £30.00. This will incur an extra postal fee.
In this case please wait for my adjusted invoice.
