Small Faces - In Memoriam - RARE Original UK Immediate IMSP022
Prior to the release of The Autumn Stone Immediate compiled an LP called In Memoriam which was rejected by the band. In particular the band, especially Ian McLagan, felt that the title implied they were dead. The label backtracked and advised the band they wouldn't release it but without the band's permission released the record in Germany. Labels had already been printed with the catalogue number IMSP 022 so these were used with the German printed sleeve which had the catalog number C 048-90 201. The most common version of the record has the label and sleeve printed with the catalog number C 048-90 201.
So this combination of IMSP 022 on the labels and C 048-90 201 is the most sought after. IMSP 022 would have been the catalogue number of In Memoriam had it been officially released in the UK. Without doubt, IMSP 022 is the rarest of all Small faces LPs.
Most of the tracks on In Memoriam found their way to The Autumn Stone 2 LP set except for the live versions of All Or Nothing and Tin Soldier.
