Slint Spiderland Box Set
I had a rush of blood to the head and bought this new, then never really played it, mostly because it's more convenient to slip out my old copy than go through the elaborate unboxing of this precious artefact!
It has a little damage and oddness that I'll try to detail fully. First, when I got it, there was damage to the inner spines of both vinyl gatefolds. It's clearly shown in the pictures. I suspect they're mostly, if not all, like this. There's some very minor shelf wear and very faint marking to the front of the box. It's crazy soft, and that kind of marking seems unavoidable to me. There's also a bit of a ding in one corner, again, from inadequate protection in shipping. Finally, one of the records is in a paper jacket, the others are in poly. This is because my copy was missing a disc, and I had to harass the importer for months to get it (they really could have done the whole thing better!) When it finally came, it was in paper. I've put a nice anti-static bag inside it. There are some slight visual pressing imperfections in the records, but they sound phenomenal. I've given them a whiz on my Loricraft cleaner, as with everything I sell.
If that description sounds negative, I'm sorry, but I'd rather a buyer be pleasantly surprised when they see the item. I think any copy you find will be very similar. It's exactly as it was when it was brand new. It's just sat there on a shelf for seven years. I believe some copies are signed. This one is not.
Now the good news. The discs are all unmarked; the book is tip-top; the records are mostly unplayed. I have played the main album once, maybe twice, (on a high-end turntable), but I don't think I ever played the bonus material. I did watch the DVD once too (it's great), and I've been through the book, almost certainly once.
Unlike Touch and Go, I shall ship with all records out of their sleeves.
