Description
Here for sale is an original UK promo copy of Silverhead’s debut album, featuring singer Michael Des Barres. Released in 1972 on Deep Purple’s own record label, this handsome gatefold item was in 1986 given as a gift to singer/author Julian Cope, while he was recording at Livingstone Studios in London. The album was spotted by Cope lying in a pile of other promo items on the office shelves. Claimed by nobody from the studio, and clearly still nearly mint, Cope immediately placed the item in a thick clear polythene cover wherein it has remained until now.
The gatefold sleeve exhibits no evidence of age save for some minor disc wear on the upper rear of the jacket: spine is clean and crisp, while the old fashioned laminate remains shiny, steadfast and entirely in place. Both sides of the record have just been played through and both sides are clean save for some minor surface noise here-and-there, plus a couple of imperfections noted below:
