Description

I've had some strange records over the years, but this one is way up there... "IRISH BALLADS as Sung By RUSSELL VARIAN" ... Private/ Vanity Issue performances by Legendary Silicon Valley pioneer and Inventor... Cool cover portrait from a photo by Ansel Adams, too!

Issued by Location Recording Service, Hollywood..., recorded by Ed Ginzton in New York City 1943...  Selections are: "FATHER O'FLYNN, NELL FLAHERTY'S DRAKE, QUATRAIN: FARMER AND THE LITTLE RED FOX, QUATRAIN: NO TITLE, AFTER THE BATTLE (BY THOMAS MOORE), THE WEDDING OF SHAWN MCCLANE, THE CRUISKEEN LAWN, KITTY OF COLERAINE, SHULE AROON, I'M NOT MESELF AT ALL" Includes two interoffice "Varian Associates, Palo Alto, CA" memos inside...Dealing with giving employees copies of this record.. (Lucky employees, eh? I'm sure they ran home and played every night for a week!)...  Cover from a famous portrait of Varian by Ansel Adams, not credited on the cover, but Russell Varian was highly involved with the Sierra Club...  Interesting slice of Hi-Tech/ Silicon Valley/ Californiana... Condition of the jacket; NM. Condition of the vinyl; NM, only slight rubbing. HEY, WHAT OTHER IRISH SINGERS HELPED BUILD THE ATOM BOMB?

Records are graded per "GOLDMINE" standards: SS= Still Sealed... M= Perfect...NM= Near Perfect...EX= Not Quite NM!...VG+= some wear, slight damage...VG= wear, some damage...G+= considerable wear, damage...Good, Fair. VISA, MC, DISCOVER are all OK.
