Description
Here's a lovely copy of Dutch group, Shocking Blue's "At Home" vinyl LP. It's an original 1st UK.1969 stereo pressing on the Pennyfarthing label. Cat.no: PELS 500; Matrix nos.: 1Y/2 / 2Y/2, Half laminated tri-flip-back sleeve. The group had a big hit in the UK with the song "Venus" which is the opening track on this album, but the album itself didn't sell well, and copies rarely turn up these days. Musically they have a lot in common with some of the more popular American west-coast artists of the day, notably Jefferson Airplane. Nirvana did a great cover of one of the tracks- "Love Buzz" on their "Bleach" album, and another track, "Acka Raga" was used as the theme music for a UK TV programme, the name of which escapes me. I would rate the sleeve as excellent, with some minor damage to the bottom left-hand corner of the spine and minor discolourations to the rear. The record looks and plays like new and would rate as near mint with little spindle-wear. The record has been cleaned using a Keith Monks record cleaning machine and tested on an Ariston RD80SL turntable, fitted with a Linn Basik Plus arm and Audio Technica cartridge via a Nad pre-amp and Spendor BC2A active monitors. Sonically it sounds vibrant and powerful . If sold, I will be despatching this item from my home in Bulgaria, so please allow at least 10 days for delivery. The record will be securely packed and postage is a flat rate £3, wherever you are in the world. Please check out my other items and feedback, and also add me to your "favourites", if you wish, because I hope to be listing many more rarities during the next few weeks. Thank you for looking and good luck.
