Description

Here is a one of a kind 12 inch 78 RPM Acetate of Lake County, Florida Sheriff Willis Virgil McCall interviewing 16 year old Charles Greenlee in 1949. Charles Greenlee was one of the so called Groveland Four. Charles Greenlee, Ernest Thomas, Sam Shepherd and Walter Irvin were accused of raping a white woman on July 16, 1949. This unique recording was made the day after Greenlee was convicted ( He was sentenced to life). In the interview conducted by Sheriff McCall, Greenlee admits to the crime and his unwillingness to appeal his verdict.   
                              Side two of this disc contains a recording of an unknown person discussing Governor Le Roy Collins and the fact that the Governor commuted the death sentence of Walter Irvin to life in prison.Both sides of this record have been  transferred to a CD which will be included. This record is very fragile.
