Description
This is an original pressing of Sam Rivers ‘Contours’ on Blue Note. Personel includes Rivers, Hancock, Chambers, and Hubbard. It is mono with the ‘van gelder’ stamp on both sides of the runout, or ‘dead wax’. Please note, that though this was recorded within the era of Blue Note records being pressed by the Plastilyte pressing plant, according to various guides (Cohen et. al.) the original copy of this LP does not have the cursive ‘P’ or ‘ear’ in the dead wax. I have graded the record and jacket according to the ‘Goldmine’ Record standard which I have linked below. Cover is EX: front has faint ring wear, slightly bumped corner. No seam splits, mildew spots, etc. Back of cover has small name in pen in bottom right hand corner and a very small piece of the backslick at top coming up as pictured. Record is also EX: very faint scuffing and maybe a handling mark; no scratches; no long marks or lines; record plays with no distortion, wear, or pops and ticks. https://www.goldminemag.com/collector-resources/record-grading-101
