SWIZ - Self Titled LP. Sammich Records. 1988. 80s DC Hardcore Punk. Rare. VG+. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
Great 80's DC Hardcore record with original Dag Nasty singer Shawn Brown.
This is a pretty rare record these day. There is another version with a red cover apparently released the same year, but I'm not sure which is the earlier version. They seem to command nearly equal value on the used record market. At least from what I have seen.
The record looks to be in really good shape with just slightly more than a handful of scratches on either side. Nearly all appear to be light in nature and not likely anything to worry about. There may be a few audible pops and clicks here and there, but this record likely still sounds pretty great! VG+
The small gate fold lyric insert is present and in very good condition. It has a couple very small (perhaps a couple centimeters, if that.) nicks in it and MAYBE a strange, very faint, beige tone to it, that isn't supposed to be there? If so, it is so subtle that I can't even be sure. VG
The cover is also in good shape but has a bit of the usual wear. There is Light ring wear on front and back perhaps, leaning a bit towards Moderate level. There are just a couple small veins, far fewer than I am used to seeing. The bottom left corner has one very long vein along the path of the enclosed record. It is pretty light but over 4 inches in length. The spine edge is in good shape with only light wear and all title text intact. The four corner points have wear ranging from Light to Moderate. There is some Light to Moderate wear on the self edge. The worst of the damage to this cover I almost DID NOT EVEN SEE! That is, it seems that someone used the cover as a brace for writing on. There are no actual pen marks on the cover but there is a faint indentation in the varnished cover that can be seen ONLY if you look at the cover from the right angle. I really almost missed it when examining this cover. The block of dented in letters is quite large. (About 3 inches by 8 inches.) and is right at the middle left area of the front cover. I tried to get a picture of it but it is so faint that it is difficult to do so. Even though it is barely visible, it is a pretty large blemish, and because of it I can only rate this cover G+, even though it is in great shape otherwise.
Grades that I use are G-, G, G+, G++, G+++, VG, VG+, VG++, VG+++/EX, NM. I won't be describing anything as M or MINT unless it is unopened and the packaging is completely unblemished. Records that have never been played but HAVE been opened, will be described as Near Mint or NM. These are the adjectives that I use when describing damage: Very Light, Light, Moderate, Severe, Catastrophic. To describe damage in between those ranks I say things like: "Moderate leaning towards Severe," "Moderate leaning towards light," or "In between Light and Moderate"...just for example.
******************PANDEMIC DELIVERY INFORMATION********************** At this time media mail going to NY, NJ and surrounding areas can take as long as 5 to 6 weeks to be delivered. USPS in those areas is under-staffed and overwhelmed, and media mail is their lowest priority. I have no control over this. If you live in those areas I recommend using Priority mail unless you are prepared to be patient. Other areas may also be affected, although probably not as severely.
