Description
Saturn Records 1966, this is an original US pressing - NOT a reissue - of the insanely rare Sun Ra And His Myth Science Arkestra LP "When Angels Speak Of Love". This one is generally regarded as the rarest of Sun Ra's Saturn releases. Jacket (which is gold with paste on red and white slick on front) is VG++, showing some handling and hints of ring wear, but no splits or tears; there is a slight musty smell as well since it was stored in an attic for some time. LP grades VG+ on side 1, showing some paper/surface marks, a couple of small scratches, and some pressing bubbles. Playback on this side is okay, as there is some audible crackle (not overpowering, though), along with pops and clicks over the pressing bubbles. There are no skips or repeats. Side 2 grades about VG, as there is one large extended scuff (which feels to the touch in some places) that crosses over tracks in addition to the aforementioned pressing bubbles and small surface marks. Playback is the same as on side 1, with some clicks, crackle, and pops but no skips or repeats. The red labels on either side are crisp with no spindle wear.
