Rory Gallagher and Taste ...  By late 1970 Taste had fallen apart with lead guitarist Rory Gallagher striking on as a solo act leaving bassist Richard 'Charlie' McCracken and former Then drummer John Wilson to continue their musical partnership in the band Stud.  Quickly recruiting ex-Blossom Toes lead guitarist Jim Cregan, within a matter of weeks the trio was touring and began writing material.   The combination of the band members' musical credentials and manager Eddie Kennedy's efforts were enough to attract the attention of Deram Records which signed the band to a contract, financing their 1971 debut "Stud".  I'll be perfectly honest and tell you that the first time I played this album I was dumbfounded.  Expecting to hear something along the lines of Taste Part 2, the collection came off as being totally unfocused and largely uninspired.  Producer Billy Kennedy (manager Eddie's son) added little to the results, allowing the trio to bounce all over the musical spectrum. McCracken himself admitted the album had been recorded in a rush with little attention to commerciality.   Showcasing a mixture of jazz-rock ('112235') and acoustic blues, the six songs were professional, though seldom particularly inspiring.  The band was also at a disadvantage in that Cregan wasn't the most talented or inspiring lead singer.  Best of the set were the acoustic numbers 'Turn Over the Pages' and ''Song'.  Nice melodies, but again nothing that would knock you over.

We have no control over parcels once they are mailedfrom our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy,Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slowmail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard toprovide excellent service as is represented by our 100% positive feedback.

 

We use a VPI machine andthoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing theLP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves overeach LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailersfor safe delivery.

 

Concerning returns & partialrefunds,   Buyers have 14 days to notify me about a problem withan LP. Please kindly describe the problem to me (please don’t re-grade theLP). If a buyer has multiple problems with my grading over more than oneauction series, I may decide to block you from being able to bid on myauctions.

REFUND POLICY:

VG+ Seam splits , ringwear, cover wear,small sticker tears etc. can come into play. On the vinyl there may be visualmarks (eg. scuffs, hairline scratches). There can be some background surfacesound.

VG   More wear on covers and morewear on LPs (multiple marks). Most likely surface sounds though the LPsmay rise above the music should be able to play without skipping orrepeating.

All LPs come boxed carefully in corrugated boxes made specifically for LPs,with a filler pad on top to protect the cover, plus the LPs are housed in clearplastic LP sleeves. LP is removed from cover (except for SEALED LPs) forshipping to prevent seam splitting. 
I will notify you by email when your parcel is packed informing you of theshipping date. For foreign shipments that are delayed, I will be glad to supplythe customs form number for your parcel as proof that it has beenshipped.
