Description
STONE ROSES
SPIKE ISLAND original ticket
I 'worked' at this concert for the promoter (details on request) and spent a good deal of time in the fenced off private area drinking free booze and eating bad food.
As I walked through the security gates into the private area a girl pushed her ticket into my hand and asked me to get it signed by Ian Brown.
Over the next hour (or three, the band didn't turn up till shortly before they went on stage) I managed to get Ian, John, Reni and Mani to sign it (didn't see Cressa) but by this time the girl had long gone away from the gate.
Since then the ticket has been stored away with other memorabilia (please ask if you are interested in other Roses items).
Now here it is, framed with a Roses picture (if you just want the ticket no problem, just say so if you win auction).
All signatures are in biro and clearly visible.
The back of the ticket has been signed by Happy Mondays' dancer Bez because he was hanging around with the band when I asked them for signatures and I felt bad not asking him. I also asked Echo & The Bunnymen's grumpy singer Ian McCulloch to sign it but he refused. I'm glad he did because it would probably devalue the ticket.
All questions and comments are welcome, unless you are Ian McCulloch or the girl from the gig.
(Happy 51st birthday to Ian McCulloch on 5th May... keep smiling)
