This is a rare disc containing material from "The Royal Gelatin Hour" radio program of March 3, 1938.   

Just over 16 minutes of a 60 minute radio program on this 12 inch, black lacquer acetate coated aluminum, 33 1/3 rpm disc recorded by Edwin Strong, Inc, New York.  

This disc was recorded for Rudy Vallee for reference purposes only and not available to the general public.  Disc came directly from the estate of Rudy Vallee

This disc contains parts 3 and 7 of the radio program

Part 3 begins with the last part of a skit titled "Josephine" featuring Betty Grable & Jackie Coogan.  After the skit Rudy Vallee's Orchestra play "Aren't The Funnies Funny" with vocals by The Four Esquires 

Part 6 begins with the last 5 minutes of a skit titled "Maybe It's Better That Way" featuring Sterling Holloway & Walter Catlett.  After the skit Rudy Valle's Orchestra play "So It's Love" with vocal by Rudy Vallee

The disc itself is in excellent condition.  There is static throughout the recording due to a storm that interfered with the recording of the disc, which is noted on the labels.  The static varies in intensity and at one point the sound is uneven as if someone was trying to find better reception.  The sound quality improves sightly on part 6

An extremely rare, one-of-a-kind disc, with a very rare appearance of Sterling Hollway - who would go on to work extensively with The Walt Disney Company, becoming the voice of Whinnie The Pooh.  I could not find any reference to any existing copy of this radio broadcast in an online radio log or database, and this may be the only surviving copy
