Description
Up for auction is a nice, original copy of The Staple Singers album "Hammer And Nails" originally released in the U.S. on Riverside Records (RLP 3501) in 1962.
-Guaranteed original pressing
-Correct blue & silver Riverside labels
-Deep groove labels
-Original mono pressing
-Still in open factory shrink wrap
-Original paste-down cover
-No UPC/bar code on cover
Condition:
Cover is in great condition, still preserved in original shrink wrap. Has one small wear spot on top seam where the shrink is broken. Corners at open end are rubbed. Otherwise, a really nice copy, very clean. Grade: Excellent (EX).
The vinyl is nice, still has its original glossy shine. Has a few faint, superficial hairlines and tiny marks here and there, but nothing serious or that causes problems with the play quality. Labels are clean, unmarked.
Play-Tested:
The record sounds nice when played in the recommended Mono Mode. Has some faint pressing noise on the run-in grooves, but it disappears once the music kicks in--and isn't really all that noticeable. Not audiophile perfect, but none of these originals are, but still a nice sounding original. Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+).
