Description

This sale is for a copy of "In Retrospect" by Stan Getz. This is from 1951 (1st pressing) on Dale 21. This is one of Stan Getz's rarest releases on vinyl & it appears that this has not been up for auction on Ebay for a couple of years. The players are Stan Getz (tenor sax), Al Haig (piano), Clyde Lombardi (bass), Charles Perry (drums) & Jimmy Rainey (guitar). The songs are "Interlude In BeBop", "Diaper Pin", "As I Live & Bop", "Frosty", "Pardon My Bop - Part One", "Pardon My Bop - Part Two", "Pinhead" & "Bopel Bath".

Condition

Cover : The cover is in VG condition with 2 small 1" splits (see photos below), some light brown spots from age & a small 100 in pen on back but otherwise this is very solid. Really nice for its age. *****PLEASE NOTE***** In the photo below, the spot at the bottom of the cover is from the flash of my camera. This is NOT on the cover. Flash only.

Vinyl : The vinyl is still quite shiny & is in good condition on both sides. There are quite a few surface scuffs & hairlines. I played this to check sound quality. There is 1 short scratch that I can feel & this causes a light click for several revolutions. There are no skips. Also, this plays with quite a bit of noise but does not over power the music. I think alot of the noise is caused because this was pressed on very rigid vinyl. I don't think that this was played very much.

Labels : The labels are in NM- condition with a few very light trails. .
