The Solid Rock Big Band released 2 LPs in the 70s, and this is definitley the pick of them.
While their Live LP is definitely harder to find, this studio-recorded album has a few very strong jazz-funk cuts, the best of which I have uploaded here.
Recorded in the mid-late 70s, the album was released on the Auburn-based Genesis label, a small privately run Christian music record label that produced dozens of albums between the mid 70s and mid 80s.
Having heard many of them, this is probably my favourite.
The group was made up of Salvation Army members from Melbourne, though they toured all over the country.
I imagine they would have been quite something to see live!.
