The Allman Brothers Band was an American blues rock band from Macon, Georgia. It was formed in 1969 by the brothers Duane and Gregg Allman.
This rare and collectible LP features a live recording of The Allman Brothers Band in Concert at Winterland in San Francisco, recorded on September 26, 1973. It comes from a series of live rock concerts issued by the BBC for broadcast by radio stations outside the United Kingdom. Tracks include "Ramblin' Man", "Jessica" and "Whipping Post". This stereo recording (CN 2483/S) is number 113 in the BBC Pop Spectacular series and is a must-have for any Allman Brothers fan and for lovers of rock and blues music.
The BBC Transcription Service pioneered full-range high fidelity recording in the BBC and was the first to regularly record in stereo and quadraphonically; it pioneered using Dolby A noise reduction. The record size is 12" and the speed is 33 RPM. This limited edition LP includes original cover and is housed in a BBC TS combined sleeve and slip-case. It includes radio cues, and track list.
All items from Verity Vinyls are part of a personal collection of records, musical manuscripts and books, started in 1953 when the collector, then aged 12 years, bought his first LP - a symphony by Mahler. He is now disposing of a selection of items from his collection. All disks are tested before despatch, and are shipped in professional box mailers with additional stiffening pads, specifically designed for vinyl records.
