Great new discovery of the 1980´s Kraut-Underground !
This is a seven song concept album of 70´s Style Progressive Rock with English lyrics, composed by three after school friends from Koblenz and recorded live by overdubbing to two-track in some cellar room of their house.
The sound quality of course suffers from such primitive equipment and technics, but the well educated keyboard playing incl. Keith Emerson-notations and the charming instrumental and vocal arrangements preserve a decent symphonic flavour and maintain the listener´s interest.
The result is a highly original "concert hall into basement"-transformation, not heard since the infamous "Cluster"-album by TRIKOLON in 1971.
Comparisons like SOFT MACHINE, GENESIS, ELP, CARAVAN or VDGG are honestly out of place, but what, if SKOLPEOPLE would have had time to record their "Accelerando" album in a proper studio !
SKOLPEOPLE was Holger L. : vocals, korg bass, synth-programming and percussion,
Andreas M.: vocals, drums, percussion and guitar (performed a bit with Damo Suzuki later, he´s told)
and Peter B.: on vocals, electric piano, synthesizers, guitar.
Peter B. was the head of the trio, but being a music teacher in Bonn by now, he doesn´t like to be reminded of this early work too often anymore.
If you´re a collector of D.I.Y.-obscurities and fond of Progressive Kraut-stuff, this must be your thing :
100 only "no joke" copies with plain white labels and still clean paste-on sleeves- mint, unplayed vinyl !
